SER Group presented ECM solutions for the digital workplace

(September 28, 2015 - Bonn/London) Addressing an international audience at the Gartner Digital Workplace Summit in London, SER set out what Doxis4 ECM can do for the digital workplace. SER took the opportunity to present the SER Group and its ECM and BPM technology to an expert audience comprising companies and consultants from many different countries. This was followed by a presentation from SER customer DHL Express which demonstrated how the technology works in practice.

"Reimagine your Workplace!" The keynote speeches by the Gartner experts at the summit in London urged businesses to change their working conditions and create a digital workplace. The aim, they said, was to create working environments which encourage information-led collaboration within the company, thus making employees more agile, innovative and efficient. The Gartner Summit featured a wide range of topics relating to the concept of a digital workplace. SER was the only manufacturer to present Enterprise Content Management, which – with SER's knowledge-based, process-oriented Doxis4 iECM – is an integral part of any digital workplace.

"Solutions combining ECM and BPM, such as the Doxis4 solutions in our product portfolio, perfectly meet the need for context awareness which was specially highlighted in the keynote speech from Gartner," states Dr Gregor Joeris, managing director of SER Software Technology and chief product manager of the SER Group. "Context-aware means that the focus will be much more targeted towards supporting non-routine work in the future, with people at the forefront. This was also confirmed by our conversations with delegates at the summit."

Martin Treder, Global IT Manager at DHL Express, gave a presentation entitled "Transforming DHL's workplace through multifunctional document management" which explained how the digital workplace has already become a reality at DHL Express thanks to Doxis4. The summit delegates were particularly impressed by the performance data of the DHL Global Imaging Archive from SER, which is used around the clock in 220 countries, 365 days a year. It currently contains over 5 billion documents which are accessed by DHL employees 800,000 times a day.

Around 450 CIOs from all over Europe gathered in London on 21 and 22 September to meet Gartner analysts and IT experts and find out how they can create collaborative, information-based working environments in their companies. The steps towards achieving a digital workplace were illustrated from a huge range of different perspectives in the keynote speeches, expert presentations and best practice examples.
