Forrester's Now Tech report 2018: SER a "large established" ECM player

What can companies expect from an ECM vendor? Which software solution will help them the best to fulfill their digital information and process management requirements? Forrester's report, "Now Tech: EU- And UK-Based Enterprise Content Management, Q2 2018,"* helps companies to select a suitable ECM vendor. Among the 20 other European vendors, Forrester listed the SER Group in the category "Large established players". As Manfred Zerwas, Managing Partner of the SER Group, comments, "You can only be successful if you are open to future developments and are prepared to actively shape them. As a privately owned software vendor, we continuously invest a large part of our software and maintenance revenue into research and development. These resources and this high level of expertise ensure our technological edge in the European ECM market."

A "modern content platform"

Which ECM software solution covers which functionalities? The Now Tech report provides answers. In the category “Large established players”, the SER Group is the only ECM vendor with software "Made in Germany” that covers all four of the primary functionality segments. As a uniform content services platform for ECM, BPM, collaboration and EFSS which is deployable company-wide, Doxis is also included in the functionality segment "Modern content platforms".

In its international ECM Waves of 2017, Forrester already analyzed vendors according to other segments: transactional content services (TCS)** and business content services (BCS)***. SER is positioned in this market analysis as a "Strong Performer". Forrester describes Doxis as providing "a solid set of foundational library and process services and can scale to meet the needs of clients with several billion managed documents." Zerwas heartily agrees with Forrester’s description, "We believe that the flexibility and scalability of our universal and uniform Doxis technological platform, enhanced by consistent metadata management, are the reasons for our positioning in the Waves."

Customers need not only a wide range of ECM functions, but also quickly deployable solutions, which SER covers in the segment horizontal and vertical content applications. Doxis offers ready-to-run templates for areas such as contract management, QM management and invoice management, plus industry-specific solutions such as machinery and product life cycle eFiles.
