The SAP TechEd developer conference, started by SAP, has grown into the most important platform for SAP development: The event provides an opportunity for technologists, engineers and SAP developers to interact and offers important insights into the SAP roadmap. As a long-time certified partner of SAP, SER attended the 2019 conference in Las Vegas to keep abreast of the latest trends in technology.
The four-day event kicked off with a keynote presentation from Jürgen Müller, the new Chief Technology Officer at SAP. Müller showed how SAP is developing its digital platform into a business technology platform, ensuring customers will be able to benefit from out-of-the-box integration, modularity, ease of extension, and consistent experience across business processes in an intelligent enterprise.
According to Müller, the business technology platform combines the SAP Cloud Platform, SAP HANA, Analytics and Business Services in one cohesive technology unit. As a major step for the company's evolving digital platform, the new platform is designed to be uniform and open, helping developers to easily embed intelligence into integrated, modular applications – whether in on-premises systems or in the cloud, SAP or non-SAP technology.
SAP's approach is to integrate multiple solutions, including non-SAP solutions, in an end-to-end process, and provide end users with a consistent user experience throughout the entire process. These efforts are focused on harmonizing data models and databases, as well as user-friendliness.
