On Friday, April 5th, we were invited to present at the world’s largest industrial fair in Hanover at the Bitkom Innovation Area Industry 4.0. The fair has become the most important platform for the digitalization of the economy. It is also the place for making contacts in the manufacturing industry. Many major companies such as Siemens and software giants like Microsoft, SAP, Amazon, Huawei, etc. have booths at the fair.
The theme of this year’s Bitkom was “ECM as a component of Industry 4.0: Connecting companies of the future through digital offices and more intelligent production.” We contributed to the discussion of this topic with our presentation: “Optimized production processes: Platform-as-a-Service for collaboration connects purchasing, suppliers and production,“ in which we demonstrated how Eissmann Group Automotive utilizes the Doxis® iRoom® for its supplier management.
In the business ecosystem of industrial and technology companies, collaborative partnerships are very advantageous: The integration of suppliers into innovation and production processes is a component of our customer Eissmann Group Automotive’s success story. Reflecting the automotive supplier’s aim for perfection, process optimization takes a central role there; the company is certified for various quality standards.
The fact that collaboration is becoming increasingly important for companies was confirmed in the SER study ECM Insights: 95% of the responding CIOs and IT managers said that information exchange with external business partners, e.g. customers, suppliers and consultants, is important to very important. Only 14%, however, said that they are currently able to integrate external participants into their processes. Eissmann Group Automotive has demonstrated that there is an excellent solution to this problem: The Doxis® iRoom® for supplier has already been awarded twice as an innovative IT project.
